All Your Marketing with One Person You Trust

I'm Troy, Your Design & Marketing Partner
Marketing & Design Services For Businesses & Church
You're a small business owner or church leader. You know your marketing matters, but you're not sure who to trust with it. Maybe you've been burned before. You've experienced the frustration of leaving voicemails that go unreturned. You've felt like a number in someone's pipeline rather than a person with a real business and real problems.
If this is you, then you need someone different. Someone who actually picks up the phone. Someone who shows that they care. Someone who's is a partner, not a provider.
That's where I come in.
But let me tell you how I got here first.
From College Elective to a Mission
I wasn't planning on becoming a designer & marketing professional.
Before I had a business, I had a passion to help people solve their problems.
In college, I had a major picked out and a timeline: finish in three and a half years. But then I had to take an elective for a media class in my junior year, and something clicked. Design solved problems in a way nothing else had. The creativity. The problem-solving. The ability to take an idea and make it visual and compelling.
So instead of graduating early, I stayed the full four years and added a Website & Graphic Design as a minor.
After college, I started helping people with design and marketing tasks because they asked me to. When they saw the results, they asked me to do more. It happened organically. No grand business plan, just me solving problems for people, and then asking me for more help and telling others about me.
Eventually, I realized there was a real need for this work, and I genuinely loved doing it. Marketing felt like a natural extension of design. I fell in love with it because it scratches both sides of my brain: including the creative abstract side through graphic design and the analytical, data-driven side where you're measuring results and optimizing based on hard numbers such as websites and local SEO.
While I started doing freelance work during and after college, I officially launched and opened Troy Henry Design soon after to officially help people solve the design and marketing problems they brought to me.
Why I Started My Business: To Serve Churches & Businesses

As a Christian, I was frustrated. I saw churches with the incredible message of the Gospel of Jesus, but their visual presence and marketing were not reflecting the power of that message. Outdated websites. Inconsistent branding. Materials that didn't represent who they were.
I wanted to help fix that. So that's where I started. My business was born out of a desire to help churches communicate their greatest message more effectively.
Then something interesting happened. As I worked with churches & pastors, business owners started reaching out. They'd heard about my work and wanted similar help. Friends referred me. People saw my portfolio and liked my style. Before I knew it, I was helping small businesses too.
Today, I work with both churches and businesses, but there's something special about helping a church communicate the greatest story ever told more effectively.
Your message deserves to be communicated in a strategically clear & visually creative way.
My Design Philosophy: Less Is More, Clarity Is Everything.
My clients consistently tell me the same thing about my work: it's clean, modern, organized, with plenty of white space (or strategic breathing room). Nothing feels cluttered or overwhelming.
But I want to explain why I design this way, because it's not just aesthetics.
When you remove the unnecessary and keep only what matters, you direct your audience's attention to what's actually important.
Your message becomes clearer. Your brand becomes stronger. People remember you because you're not presenting them with too much information at once.
The philosophy is simple: it's not always about adding more. It's about asking the hard question, "What can we take away while still communicating the same message, but in a clearer, more attractive way?"
This styles applies to everything I do, website design, branding, print materials, email marketing. It all comes down to clarity and focus.

Why My Approach is Different:
The Partnership Model

Here's what I've learned:
Most people don't need another vendor. They need a partner.
Working with a traditional marketing agency can be frustrating. You call and talk to an account manager. That account manager talks to the designer. The designer talks to the developer. Communication gets muddled. Accountability gets lost. And if something goes wrong? Maybe the owner steps in or you just have to find another agency and start all over.
I decided early on I wasn't going to operate that way.
When you work with me, you work directly with me. No middlemen. No account managers. No passing the buck. You call, I answer. You email, I respond, usually within 24-72 business hours.
I take the time to understand your actual business, your specific goals, your unique challenges. Then I create solutions designed specifically for your situation, not a cookie-cutter template.
This means I cannot work with everyone, but I can give the proper attention to the clients I do work with.
While I do have some specialist who help me with particular projects that they specialize in, I am involved & manage every project.
My Clients Appreciate Being Able to Reach Me Directly
My clients can pick up the phone and reach me directly. They're not being passed around. The same person designing your website is also handling your graphic design, printing, and local SEO strategies.
But more importantly, you know I'm genuinely invested in your success. I'm not trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible in the shortest time. I'm building a relationship. I'm thinking long-term.
A Long-Term Partnership.
The Leaky Bucket Story.
Let me tell you about one of my very first clients.
They came to me asking for help setting up Facebook and Google ads. On the surface, it was straightforward. An easy project. A quick win.
I could have said yes and made some quick money. But something didn't sit right with me after I looked at their current website.
So I did something unusual. I told them:
"You shouldn't hire me for this."
They were confused. "Why not?" they asked.

I explained: "Facebook and Google ads are designed to drive traffic to a website. But if your website isn't built to convert visitors into customers, then you're trying to fill a leaky bucket. You'll see some results, but not enough to justify the expense. Your current website is 10-15+ years old and barely works on mobile. You're going to waste money on the ads hiring me."
I recommended they invest first in a new website, the foundation of all marketing efforts, and then add paid advertising once they had a solid place to send traffic.
I could have focused on making the sale for what they asked for. Instead, I took a risk of losing the business with making a recommendation of what was actually in their best interest, even though it meant they may not hire me and choose someone else who would simply do what they wanted. This was my initial fear, but in reality they stopped, thought about it for a moment and said “what should we do to fix our website?”
As a result of that conversation, we redesigned their website together. They loved it. Leads came in as a result. And here's the best part: they're still a client of mine today, years later. We keep working together, adding services, optimizing their marketing, helping them grow. That partnership has been far more valuable, and far more fulfilling, than any quick sale would have been. That's when I realized...
I don't want to simply be a vendor.
I want to partner in your success.
That's the difference between treating business as transactions versus relationships. And it fundamentally set the course of how I do everything. Sure, not all clients stay, view it this way, or a good fit, but regardless, this is how I want to run my business.
The Long Game:
I Believe in Lifetime Partnerships
I tell every client the same thing: "When you succeed, I succeed. I'm in this relationship for the lifetime."
I'm not looking to do one project to make a quick buck and disappear. I truly only need to work with a small number of clients on a semi-consistent basis throughout the year to build a sustainable, fulfilling business. That means I can prioritize quality and long-term relationships over volume.
As your business grows, I expect to do more work with you. We evolve together. We solve new problems as they come up.
There's a saying attributed to Zig Ziglar I love: "When you help enough people, you never need to worry about money." It reframes everything toward actually helping people solve real problems. And when you help enough people solve their problems, the money seems to take care of itself.

Staying Sharp:
Contiuously Learning

I never want to be stagnant.
I personally set goals for myself every year, and while I never seem to hit 100% of them all, I can look back and see progress. One year, I set a goal to read 50 books in the year, and while I didn’t complete most of my other goals, I did read 50 books that year.
Marketing and design change constantly, and my clients deserve the best strategies and approaches available.
I'm part of paid communities with other designers and marketers where we share what's working. I’m learning from their success and failures. I'm almost always taking courses, reading books, listening to podcasts, watching videos. I test things and incorporate what actually works into my strategies for clients.
On the design side, I tend to shy away from chasing trends. Trends are fun for social media, but design principles are timeless. I focus on what's proven to work, the fundamentals that have stood the test of time.
What Clients Have Said About Me
Over the years, I've been fortunate to work with clients who have felt genuinely cared for. Here's what they've told me:
"He exemplified patience throughout the process"
"He places great care with my work"
"He's attentive to the particular needs of my business"
"He resolved an issue with my website in days rather than weeks like other companies"
"He's good at listening to his clients, which is hard to find these days"
"Very responsive and informative"
"He took our vision and created exactly what we wanted."
These words mean more to me than any industry award ever could. They're proof that my approach works. When you treat people like partners instead of transactions, they feel it. They notice. And they want to keep working with you.
How I Measure Success
I don't measure my success by revenue or project volume. I measure it by yours.
Are you getting more leads? Are your customers recognizing and remembering your brand? Are you sleeping better at night because your marketing is actually working? Are you seeing a real return on your investment? That's success to me.
Marketing isn't always a straight line.
Sometimes we try things that don't work on the first attempt. That's not failure, that's learning.
We test, measure, iterate. We keep swinging and giving it our best. Over time, better strategies becomes clearer and results improve
While we don't hit home runs every time (that's just the nature of marketing), I'm committed to the process and to seeing you succeed long-term.
One Person, One Vision:
Long-Term Commitment
Let me be clear one last time about what makes working with me different: You work directly with me. Not an account manager. Not a rotating team. Just you and me.
I offer a suite of services of design & marketing services.
Web design, local SEO, graphic design, branding, printing, digital business cards, and more. You don't need five different vendors for each of these, you need one person who does it all and ensures it all works together.
I actually care. This isn't just a job to me. I started this because I saw a need and wanted to help. That passion hasn't faded. It drives everything I do.
The marketing and design industry has problems. There are scammers who promise the world for nothing. There are people who start projects and disappear. There are companies that take weeks to respond to an email. That's broken, and it's made a lot of people skeptical about working with designers and marketers.
I get it. You should be skeptical if you have gone through that, but I'm not that guy. I answer my phone (or return the call when able). I respond to emails. I show up. I listen. I care about you and the results we do together.
That's not how everyone does business, but it's how I do it.
If you're tired of juggling vendors, frustrated with unresponsive companies, and ready to work with someone who actually cares about your success, let’s talk.
You don't need to have everything figured out. You don't need a perfect plan. Just reach out and let's have a real conversation about your business and what it needs to grow.

Who Am I Beyond Work...
I should mention that I'm not just a designer and marketer. I'm a husband, a dad (and "Dad Da" might be some of the sweetest words I've ever heard from my little ones), and someone who actually enjoys life beyond work.
I ride my Trek bike. I play board games and card games (Catan is a personal favorite). I enjoy big family vacations. I take walks with my wife and the kids.
I even used to play guitar, though I'm not particularly musically gifted by any stretch of the imagination.
Pickleball is a new sport I am trying to play to stay active, but I'll play almost any sport with a good group of people.
